The beginning of this story sets your brain and emotions down one road and before you can blink there is a twist. This is the 2nd novel I've read by Brian and there's a common theme. No the books aren't just alike, but what ho,da true in both is that you are given an issue and it makes you question how you would handle it being in heir shoes. Having been in a situation similar I already know what I did do, but it definitely understand how another choice could be made. This book can definitely be the subject of many hours of conversation. You may come down strongly on one side or the other depending on your back ground. This book solicited many emotions from me and that's what books are supposed to do. I highly recommend.Product details

Glass Houses edition by Brian W Smith Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I really enjoyed this novel! The subject was deep, the reactions from the males in the family were to be expected and Tammy was dead wrong. In the end everyone got what I felt they deserved. Great novel, sorry I sat on it so long!
Very good read. I like Brian's style of writing....to take a moral dilemma and wrap a story around it.
The book is an easy, fast paced read. The story grabs hold of you and keeps you. I'm a fan of Brian and have read several of his books. Can't wait for his next book. Glass Houses was the October book selection by RARE book club.

I loved this book and it kept me on my toes!! Full of twists and turns with developed characters, this is a winner (there was one question I wanted answer, but I'll just make it up - LOL) Great job Mr. Smith! (as usual)
Smith does it yet again. I don't want to spoil it, but Tammy is lucky. Read the book to find out just how much so. I will say, an update on Chris would have been good. Even though I read this for research purposes, it was a great read.
Once again my favorite author doesn't disappoint! I was so excited to read it & tried to slow down to just savor the story since I didn't want it to end! I won't spoil the book for you by say too much. I felt as though each character came to life & their inner struggles we're jumping off the pages. We all know these characters & at times it is us or we're related to them. We all know a Malcolm. We'll be talking about this book for months to come!
After reading Brian Smith's novel, Glass Houses, I have raised my expectations for other novels that I choose to read. The way he develops his characters, able to convince you that they are as screwed up, witty, or intelligent as he claims they are makes me hold other authors at higher expectations when creating character dialogue. The storyline was great. There were several different storylines in the novel with the 3 brothers and their parents, and all were entertaining. If I could make one request, that would be that the story was longer with a clearer picture of what happens in the end. Hopefully that means that there will be a sequel. Great Read!
This book was an excellent read. The whole family was crazy. Dianne, the mother, and Cameron were the only 2 that had a little sense. Thank God Cameron changed his life and was heading in the right direction. Satan will always attack you with something when you are trying to turn your life around towards God and doing the right thing, He had a supportive woman to aid in that too. Those other 2 knuckleheads couldn't leave trouble along. What got me was when one brother had a problem with his brother-in-law beating his sister when he was doing the exact same thing to his girlfriend. Folks living in glass houses can't throw stones.
